We felt we had "discovered" one of the best-kept secrets for travelers seeking something a little different when we chose to explore the island of Bantayan for the first time in Oct 2009.
Without a doubt the Bantayan is number one on our Top Ten Favorite Places to Stay list. We suggest you put it on your list of Places to Visit."
I had found the perfect rustic beach bungalows. And all the toys and home style ammeneties thrown in to help make a visit here so relaxing that
you not only don't want to leave, "After landing at the shores of this cebu paradise,
I picked the recommended resort from the Lonely Planet guidebook as my home for a few days. you CAN'T leave!"
Our friends stayed at the Hard Kock kafe and loved it. The rooms, while not all are air conditioned are very pleasant and cool,
and the amenities are perfect for this sort of experience The combination of casual comfort, laid back attitude and cheerful service,
combined with well prepared food presented in an open air, "on the beach" environment is hard to beat. and the amenities are perfect
for this sort of experience. Can't stop without
Bantayan Island is a beautiful gem of an island located north of mainland Cebu, Bantayan Island offers pristine beaches, sumptuous fresh seafood at jaw-droppingly low prices, and the famous danggit - this crunchy salty dried fish that is so good with fried rice at breakfast.
Bantayan Island is one of the 15 islands clustered off the northern point of Cebu Island. It is renowned for its powder white sands,
crystal clear water, especially along the southwest coast and a low-key, laid-back resort with friendly locals.

Two of the main attraction of the island is its crystal-clear
waters and it's long stretch of powdery white sand. The stunning sunset will really spice those romantic walks on the beach. One of the reasons the
island is famous is its peacefulness, the way a resort should be. Unsaturated beauty and a combination of sweet smiling natives made the island as it
is now.
You might also want to go on a day trip to Virgin Island, a private island, where you can snorkel and rest for the day for an entrance fee of
300 pesos. Renting a boat from Sta Fe. for the whole day costs 1,500, inclusive of your lunch while on the island, and your snorkeling gear.

"So tell me, where would you say is the most beautiful place
in the philippines?"
Of course, there are still more awe striking places to go in our beloved Pinas. But I am always humbled when asked.
I must have seen enough --- by their standards --- to be given the right to an opinion. However, I can sense their disappointment when they hear my
simple answer. Without batting an eyelash, I say...
"BANTAYAN-ISLAND."
