The new Fish Port, which is called Macapagal-Durano Fish Port in located right in front of the plaza.
The new fishport is really nice and clean. Also, it has ample park space for those who wish to drop by to use the
clean rest rooms. By the way, remember the tinap-anan restaurants on the beach before you reach the Danao Church?
Well, all restaurants have been transferred to the second floor of the new building.
Cutting costs on transport expenses means a lot to fishermen in northern Cebu as this indicates more daily savings as the day's catch are now delivered to the Macapagal-Durano Fish Port located in Danao City instead of in Pasil in Cebu City, the province's fish trading center.

| The Macapagal-Durano Fish Port is the first of its kind in the province with a pier deck to accommodate big fishing vessels and a market hall for as many as eight fish brokers during peak hours of trading.
The fish port has been used for free concerts when Kamikazee performs in a free concert sponsored by SuperFerry at Danao Fish Port Area, Cebu on Saturday, July 25,2009

The enormous fishport was inaugurated by President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo on October 22 , 2008. It was constructed by the administration of Mayor Ramon Nito Durano III, the amiable father of our dynamic Tourism Secretary Joseph Ace Hotchkiss Durano..
The food court has an array of gastronomic offerings of native dishes that you can choose from like smoked fish (tinapa), panga, beef jerky (kusahus), crabs, shrimps, and more guaranteed to satisfy a grumbling stomach.

The project costs P86,504,240.43 using funds from the President’s Social Fund worth P40 million, another P35,445,350 from the Philippine Fisheries and
Development Authority and P11,058,890 from the Danao city government.
The 9,000-square-meter fish port, which will be fully operational starting tomorrow, also serves as a fish trading center for neighboring municipalities as well as other places in northern Cebu extending as far as San Remigio.
Mayor Durano and his sons Fifth district Rep. Ramon Red Durano VI and Tourism Secretary Joseph Ace Durano along with Agriculture
Secretary Arthur Yap, Presidential Management Staff chief Sec. Cerge Remonde and Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia assisted
the President in unveiling the project marker.
